When Destiny 2’s Season of Opulence launches on June 4, it will introduce some major changes to the Eververse store. Along with a newly revamped store interface, Bungie is changing how the store’s items are sold. Players will be able to buy any specific Eververse item, and even earn classic items from previous content seasons.
Destiny 2 Season of Opulence Eververse Changes
Bungie detailed the upcoming Eververse changes in this weekly blog post. The changes are meant to address a number of issues players have had with the Eververse store in the past. For example, players didn’t like having to rely on randomized loot box-esque engrams for finding specific items. They also didn’t appreciate how season-specific items were locked away forever once the season had ended.
The Season of Opulence changes address both those issues…to a degree. Every new Opulence Eververse item can be directly purchased with either Silver or Bright Dust. However, most items still only have limited weekly availability, so players can’t dawdle if they’re eyeing a particular item. As for the returning “Greatest Hits” items, they’re only available via Season of Opulence-specific Bright Engrams. Players will once again need to rely on chance if they want classic items like the Spicy Ramen emote.
Lastly, Season of Opulence will include new cosmetic armor sets along with multiple armor unlock avenues. New armor pieces can be found in Bright Engrams or purchased directly from the Eververse store. Players will also have the opportunity to purchase entire bundles of full armor sets. Each armor piece has a fixed perk roll so there’s no reason to hunt for duplicates.
To freshen up the Eververse buying experience, Bungie is also reworking the in-game storefront page. As you can see in the above screenshot, the store will have a front page full of specially selected items. These front page items will also rotate in and out on a weekly basis.
All of the above changes will go into effect when Destiny 2’s Season of Opulence launches on June 4.
