Destiny 2: Escalation Protocol Changes Coming In Season Of Dawn

Back in Warmind, Bungie introduced a brand-new PvE activity called Escalation Protocol. It is still considered one of the best and fun to play activities in Destiny 2. The best part of the Escalation Protocol was that it came with its own loot pool. Meaning, this mode had its own exclusive weapons and armor sets. The shotgun and sub-machine gun were the best of them all with trench barrel (until Bungie decided to nerf this perk).

Destiny 2: Escalation Protocol Changes Incoming

Destiny 2 Season of Dawn Escalation Protocol

Just like every week, Bungie released their weekly blog-post This Week At Bungie recently. And in that, they discussed a couple of stuff that will be hitting Destiny 2 next week. One of the changes coming with this update is the Escalation Protocol economy. Right now, players need a key to open the chest upon completion of wave 7. But that’s changing with the next sandbox update. You can see every Escalation Protocol change below:

Escalation Protocol

  • Escalation Protocol wave 7 chest no longer requires a key to open the chest can be opened upon every successful completion of wave 7
  • Each time opening the chest awards one piece of EP armor for your character class until you have the full set
  • After the full set is acquired, the subsequent opening of the chest awards a random piece of armor
  • Charged Decryption Keys and Key Fragments are being removed from the game; these items will be removed from player inventories
  • Armory keys to spawn Valkyrie Javelins are unchanged and will remain
  • EP weapon drops were not touched and are still cumulative-stream boss drops

So, these are all the tweaks and changes regarding escalation protocol coming with this next sandbox update. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments!

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is now live on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, released on October 1, 2019, and later in November on Google Stadia.
