Destiny 2: Here Are All The New Season of the Drifter Exotics

Destiny 2’s Season of the Drifter has many new items for players to earn, from pinnacle weapons to armor sets. However, perhaps the most coveted of all are the five new Exotics coming this season. Three new Exotic armor pieces and two new Exotic weapons are up for grabs  in Season of the Drifter.

The three new Exotic armor pieces are all for the gauntlets armor slot, one for each Destiny 2 class. As for the weapons, we already know about one: the infamous Thorn hand cannon. The other Exotic weapon, however, is also an interesting addition as you’ll soon see.

Liar’s Handshake

The Liar’s Handshake Hunter gauntlets are closely tied to the class’s Arcstrider subclass. With Liar’s Handshake equipped a player gains the unique ‘Cross Counter’ perk. Whenever the player uses their Arc melee ability or is hit by an enemy melee attack, Cross Counter triggers. While Cross Counter is active the player can unleash a powerful counterpunch which also heals them.

Stronghold

As a Titan main who enjoys using swords, the Stronghold Titan gauntlets have me very excited. Stronghold’s unique ‘Clenched Fist’ perk triggers whenever the player guards with a sword. Clenched Fist grants increased movement speed while guarding and also makes it so that guarding doesn’t use up sword ammo. Also, if the player guards right before an enemy attack lands, they are healed.

Getaway Artist

Similar to Liar’s Handshake, the new Getaway Artist gauntlets are tied to the Warlock’s Arc-based Stormcaller subclass. With Getaway Artist equipped the player can hold down their grenade button to trigger the ‘Dynamic Duo’ perk. Dynamic Duo consumes the grenade charge to spawn a floating Arc Soul turret which follows the Warlock around.

Arbalest

Arbalest is Destiny 2’s very first Kinetic fusion rifle. The linear fusion rifle’s ‘Compounding Force’ perk alters its firing style. Instead of an energy blast, Arbalest fires concentrated slugs which can heavily damage enemy shields.

Thorn

Thorn won’t technically arrive in Destiny 2 until next week, but we already know what its unique perk will be. The weapon’s ‘Mark of the Devourer’ perk causes its bullets to pierce enemy targets and damage them over time. Any enemies slain by a Thorn shot also drop Remnants. Picking up these Remnants refills Thorn’s ammo and makes Mark of the Devourer more powerful.
