Destiny 2: How To Farm Gambit Prime Weapons in The Reckoning

As of Destiny 2’s 2.2.1 update, The Reckoning is now a great source for farming Season of the Drifter weapons. Not only can The Reckoning now drop Gambit Prime weapons, it also has three exclusive weapons of its own.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of Destiny 2’s Reddit community, we now know how players can pursue specific weapons. Most Season of the Drifter weapons can drop in both Gambit Prime and The Reckoning. Some, however, will only appear in specific Reckoning tier difficulties.

Destiny 2 Reckoning Gambit Prime weapons guide

To recap, here are the Season of the Drifter weapons that can drop in the Gambit Prime and Reckoning activities:

  • Outlast pulse rifle
  • Spare Rations hand cannon
  • Bug-Out Bag SMG
  • Gnawing Hunger auto rifle
  • Doomsday grenade launcher
  • Night Watch scout rifle
  • Lonesome sidearm
  • Last Man Standing shotgun
  • Sole Survivor sniper rifle
  • Just In Case sword

Three of the above weapons are Reckoning-exclusive: Gnawing Hunger, Doomsday, and Just In Case. All of the other weapons can drop in both The Reckoning and Gambit Prime. Initial reports said that the Reckoning-exclusive weapons would only drop on Tier 3 (the highest difficulty tier). However, subsequent testing has apparently found the weapons can also drop in Tier 2.

Weapons will only drop in Tier 2 and Tier 3, not Tier 1. Each time a player completes a Reckoning run and isn’t awarded a weapon, their chances increase for subsequent runs. Also, specific weapons can drop based on the final Reckoning boss the players face. Here are the weapons that can drop from each Reckoning boss:

Likeness of Oryx

  • Outlast pulse rifle
  • Spare Rations hand cannon
  • Bug-Out Bag SMG
  • Gnawing Hunger auto rifle
  • Doomsday grenade launcher

The Swords

  • Night Watch scout rifle
  • Lonesome sidearm
  • Last Man Standing shotgun
  • Sole Survivor sniper rifle
  • Just In Case sword

Knowing which boss drops the weapon you want can help further improve your chances. Playing on Tier 3 also helps, but isn’t a strict requirement. If you’re going for one of the Reckoning-exclusive armaments, though, playing on Tier 3 can’t hurt your chances.
