It’s always exciting when a game like Destiny 2 gets a new content expansion, but when accessing said expansions requires additional monetary investment on the player’s part (as is the case with Destiny 2), it can also get quite pricey for those who decide to start playing a little later in the game’s lifecycle. Developer Bungie solved this issue back during the original Destiny’s run by pivoting over to a re-release of the game that, for $60, granted access to the core game, its first two expansions, and the then upcoming Taken King expansion. Now, a similar plan has been announced for Destiny 2 and its upcoming Forsaken expansion.
According to a press release from Destiny 2 publisher Activision, the game is getting a ‘Legendary Collection’ edition that includes the core game, the Curse of Osiris expansion, the Warmind expansion, and the upcoming Forsaken expansion all in one package. Since the Destiny 2 Legendary Collection only costs $60, it’s an excellent value for brand new players who want to get the full Destiny 2 experience right from the get go, or even existing players who have yet to experience the previously released Curse of Osiris and Warmind expansions.
Along with the Legendary Collection, Activision’s press release also announced the Destiny 2 Complete Collection. For $100 the Complete Collection offers everything in the Legendary Collection plus Destiny 2’s Annual Pass which will grant access to three upcoming mini-expansions throughout late 2018-early 2019. The three mini-expansions will be Black Armory (Winter, 2018), Joker’s Wild (Spring, 2019), and Penumbra (Summer, 2019).
If you’re not yet convinced that Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion will be worth your time, perhaps this recently revealed exotic weapons and armor trailer will convince you.
