Yesterday, at Gamescom, IGN interviewed Ben Wommack (Creative Lead at Bungie) and Wendy Wade (Senior Producer at Bungie) about what to expect this fall with Shadowkeep. They answered many frequently asked questions about Shadowkeep, Power Level Cap being one of them. We all know, at this point that Cross Save (going live tomorrow, August 21, 2019) and PC Migration is happening on Bungie’s website.
Shadowkeep Power Level Cap is Infinite
According to Ben Wommack, there won’t be any Power Cap in Destiny 2 with Shadowkeep. Wommack said, “the new power cap doesn’t actually exist. Technically, you can go infinite with the Seasonal Artifacts, but whether you can actually get there, only 24 hours being in the day, is another question.” Now, we do know that Seasonal Artifacts is a thing in Shadowkeep. With that, you’ll be able to unlock new Mods to increase your Light Level in Destiny 2.
Wommack also detailed about the soft cap in Shadowkeep. He said, “The raid gear will end at 960, and after that, any increase in Power Level will come from the Seasonal Artifacts.” So, this means that every activity including Raids, Crucible, (Nightmare Hunts?) and Nightfalls will drop gear of PL up to 960. It’s very interesting how Bungie is changing the way Destiny has worked until now.
This means you can go as much higher Power Level you want depending on how much you play Destiny 2. We’ll definitely know more about this in the future. Right now, Destiny 2 players on PC are linking their Steam account with Bungie account for the preparation of Destiny 2 moving to Steam this fall.
New Armor Sets for Each Class
If you go to Destiny 2 Shadowkeep page on Bungie website, they’ve updated the page with new information. You can see the new (soft) Power Cap is 960 along with some new Exotic Weapons and Armor.
If you scroll down at the bottom of the page, you’ll see a Season of the Undying section that says, “Defend our Moon from the Vex invasion and face the Undying Mind. In Season of the Undying, you will experience a new activity, discover new exotic weapons, collect exclusive universal ornaments, and grow more powerful,” with a new armor set for each class shown in the background. This could be the Raid Armor sets or comes with the new Seasonal Activity (like Menagerie)?
Destiny 2: Shadowkeep will be hitting PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, on October 1, 2019, and later in November on Google Stadia.
