Every holiday season, Bungie releases a limited-time event called – The Dawning in Destiny 2. It’s a really fun event where you need to collect candies and cookies to farm the new weapons and armor pieces. Just like last year, Bungie announced The Dawning will be returning in Destiny 2 next week with new rewards for players to earn and new cosmetics to grab. Bungie also said that Avalanche (last year’s Dawning exclusive weapon) will also be returning this year. So, if you don’t have a good roll on this machine gun, now will be the time to get farming.
Destiny 2: The Dawning Schedule and Rewards
The Dawning will begin in Destiny 2 on all platforms on:
- Begins: 9:00 AM Pacific on 12/17/2019
- Ends: 9:00 AM Pacific on 1/14/2020
“This year, Eva has a new SMG for you to bake: the Cold Front. Additionally, if you missed out on the perfect roll for the Machine Gun Avalanche last year, it’s your time to shine. Both weapons will be available to earn throughout the entire event.”

While Bungie is adding more cosmetics that are earnable and purchasable via Bright Dust, there will be only one item that you can purchase with in-game paid currency – Silver, and it’s a Finishing Move.
If you’ve completed Season of the Undying Season Pass, you have a free exotic engram waiting for you to grab. All you need to do to get this free loot is:
- Sign-in to Destiny Companion App or Bungie.net and head to this link.
- Select your platform and character in Destiny 2.
- Claim the hidden exotic engram (or any item that you’re missing)
