A few months ago, Destiny 2 developer Bungie unveiled a special ‘Veterans of the Hunt’ in-game item bundle. The bundle’s unveiling coincided with the announcement that Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion now includes the Year 1 Expansion Pass. Now, Bungie has attached a tentative release date to the Veterans of the Hunt bundle.
Destiny 2 Veterans of the Hunt Bundle Release Date
According to Bungie’s most recent weekly update, the Veterans of the Hunt bundle will arrive on Tuesday, December 18. The bundle is available as a special freebie to all players who played the Forsaken expansion before October 16. Included in the bundle are the following in-game items:
- Two exclusive Exotic emotes: ‘Knife Trick’ and ‘Coin Flip.’
- An exclusive ‘Tiger Stripe’ black armor shader and emblem.
- A pack of consumables which includes Fireteam Medallions, Vanguard Boons, Crucible Boons, and Finest Matterweaves.
The Veterans of the Hunt bundle was originally supposed to launch in early December. However, some unforeseen development issues forced Bungie to delay the bundle’s launch. For now, the plan is to launch the bundle alongside Destiny 2’s 2.1.3 update on December 18. Additional delays might be needed so Bungie isn’t locking down the final release date just yet.
Bungie’s weekly post also includes animated gifs for both of the new emotes. It looks like the Coin Flip emote mirrors The Drifter’s opening animation from Destiny 2’s Gambit mode. The Knife Trick emote, meanwhile, is more original but no less impressive and showy. Both of the new emotes are also coming to Destiny 2’s Eververse item pool. The Tiger Stripe shader and emblem, however, will remain forever exclusive to the veterans who earned them.
In other Destiny 2 news, the game’s Black Armory expansion is now available to Annual Pass owners. In total, the Annual Pass grants access to three expansions: Black Armory, Joker’s Wild, and Penumbra.
