DICE has now implemented a fix for one of Battlefield 5’s most significant and enduring bugs; a bug which has been present in the game seemingly since launch. This particular bug has affected players who have reached the game’s maximum rank, and prevents them from earning Battlefield 5 Company Coin, the game’s primary in-game currency. As a result, they were unable to purchase new upgrades for their Company. Thankfully, that persistent bug has now been removed.
All Rank 50 Players Can Once Again Earn Battlefield 5 Company Coin
DICE has been aware of, and trying to fix, the Battlefield 5 Company Coin bug for some time. In fact, the studio published a formal apology to fans just a week ago because it had taken so long to find a solution. At the time, they implemented a solution which fixed the issue for some, but not all players. Now, it seems, a solution has been put into place which should remove the bug from all of those players who were still affected. The official Battlefield 5 Twitter account confirmed today that; “We’ve just completed an update to our backend that allows ALL players who have reached Rank 50 in Battlefield 5 to continue earning Company Coin. Thank you for your patience with this one!”

It’s currently unknown whether players who have been affected by the bug will retroactively regain the Company Coin they missed out on. However, this is something which DICE has previously said that they will get after they were able to fix the bug. As such, if players haven’t yet received that missing currency, that will likely be DICE’s next priority on this issue.
According to DICE, the reason why this problem took so long to fix was that the bug lay in how the game was communicating with its server back-end; “The complexity of the issue means that we must take extra caution and remain diligent in our approach,” explained DICE, last week. Thankfully, this will no longer be a problem that players will have to worry about.
