In what is likely to be the final act of an ongoing problem in Battlefield 5, DICE has retroactively given players affected by the problem a one-off grant of Battlefield 5 Company Coin. The grant is equal to the amount of Company Coin which each player would otherwise have earned if they hadn’t been impacted by a bug; one which affected a large number of players who had reached Rank 50. The bug made it impossible for players to earn Company Coin.
DICE’s One-Time Battlefield 5 Company Coin Grant
The Battlefield 5 Company Coin bug affected a large number of players once they reached Rank 50; the maximum rank in the game. At this stage, the bug prevented players from earning Company Coin; thus making it impossible for them to spend in-game currency on Company upgrades. The problem proved exceedingly difficult to solve. In fact, DICE issued a formal apology to players over how long it took to implement a fix. Yesterday, the studio was able to apply a full fix which should have removed the bug. An earlier fix only affected some players.
Today, DICE has given a one-off grant of Battlefield 5 Company Coin to those players who lost out because of the bug. This was something which the studio had promised to do, and it seems as though this finally closes the book on this ongoing problem. “We’ve just deployed a one-time Company Coin grant to Battlefield 5 players that had previously missed their post-Rank 50 earnings,” reads the Tweet which announced the grant; “Thanks for your patience and we hope you enjoy these Company Coins.”

The reason why it took DICE so long to find a solution was because of where the bug was occurring. According to the studio, the bug lay somewhere in how Battlefield 5 communicated with the back-end. As such, any changes which were made ran the risk of upsetting all manner of other parts of that communication, and DICE had to be especially cautious. Fortunately, all affected players should now be free of the bug, and reimbursed for all lost Company Coin.
