With Trial by Fire coming to its end, DICE recently announced two more chapters for Battlefield 5’s Tides of War. Chapter 4 is due to begin towards the end of June, and will be bringing more maps to the game than any previous chapter. The second of these will be the Battlefield 5 Marita map, which was showcased in a new trailer today during the EA Play event.
The Upcoming Battlefield 5 Marita Map
The Battlefield 5 Marita map is the second map in the Battle of Greece pairing, alongside Mercury; a map released during Chapter 3. No doubt players will see a Battle of Greece Grand Operation shortly after Marita’s release. Like Mercury, Marita has an element of verticality to it, with players making use of multi-storey houses and the mountainside around them. Marita is due to release sometime in July, as the second new map of Chapter 4.
The first of the new maps is Al Sundan, a map set in North Africa. That map is due to release on the 27th of June, likely as the first content release of Chapter 4. As such, players will likely see Marita coming to the game in mid-to-late July, as DICE allows time for people to try out Al Sundan first.
The Marita map is centred around a small alpine town, with the Allies defending and Axis forces staging an attack. Multiple access points are likely to become focal points for combat between teams, particularly the mountain road, which is exposed to fire from the town itself. There do appear to be at least some vehicles (as seen in the recent Chapter 4 trailer). However, the urban areas and winding streets favour infantry, and the map is clearly designed with that in mind. However, the map will still be a full-size map. Later in Chapter 4, DICE will be releasing two more smaller maps designed for the upcoming Close-Quarter game mode.
