To celebrate the holiday season, DICE is offering gamers two new Battlefield 5 weapons for free. Unlike the new weapons tied to Chapter Events, or the recently released Silver Plated M1911 sidearm, you don’t need to complete anything in-game or subscribe to any extra service. In fact, claiming these two new weapons is as easy as logging in.
How to Unlock the Two New Battlefield 5 Weapons
“As the holiday season is closing in,” says DICE; “so are good-old, awesome traits like kindness and generosity. We see this daily – all year round, in fact – on the Battlefield 5 servers as countless Buddy Revives are made and resources shared. As part of the Battlefield community, you’re constantly giving us gifts in all shapes and forms: be it feedback, fan art, or frantic gameplay videos. We wanted to give you a little something back.”
As such, DICE is offering all players two new Battlefield 5 weapons; the Ribeyrolles 1918 Assault Rifle and the M1897 Shotgun. The former weapon is usable by the Assault class, while the latter is available to the Support class. To get these two weapons, all you need to do is log in to Battlefield 5 at any point between the 18th of December and the 3rd of January. They will then become accessible in the Company menu.
The Ribeyrolles 1918 is actually a weapon returning to the franchise from Battlefield 1. It plays a unique role in Battlefield 5, where there is no other assault rifle quite like it. It is actually the longest-range assault rifle in the game and comes with a bipod. Although its damage isn’t the highest, it is also among the most accurate assault rifles. Certainly, it’s a weapon which Assault class players will want to have in their armoury. The M1897 is also a weapon from the First World War, although it didn’t appear in Battlefield 1. It’s an extremely powerful pump-action shotgun.
