There are just two months before the Battlefield 5 launch. In that time, it seems that DICE plans to focus primarily on development and tweaking, as they recently quashed rumours that they could hold a second open beta. However, that doesn’t mean that their won’t be anything going on in the next two months. The studio recently released a schedule which details everything DICE has planned until the launch.
DICE’s Countdown to the Battlefield 5 Launch
In the final week of September, DICE released the second episode of their Dev Talks series. They also released detailed breakdowns of the Classes and Combat Roles in Battlefield 5. Indeed, while this was listed in the schedule, both of these have already seen release. On the other hand, it seems that plenty is planned for October.
Firstly, DICE plans to show fans all eight of the Battlefield 5 multiplayer maps, with details about their history. Some of these have been shown already, though some are still largely under wraps. DICE will also be showing off more info about vehicles; “we can’t wait to start revealing them to you,” says the schedule; “as well giving you many more details about how you’ll upgrade, customize, and progress them from launch as part of your Company.”
After that, DICE will be releasing more information about War Stories; Battlefield 5’s single-player experience. The studio has shown very little indeed from these five planned missions, four of which will be available at launch. The studio also plans to release more info on the Tides of War post-launch content, including details as to what the first Chapter, “Fall of Europe” will comprise. They will also be revealing more about the Combined Arms mode, as well as the much-anticipated Firestorm battle royale mode.
Finally, in November, DICE has a little more information to reveal prior to launch. That info will focus mainly on the game’s Grand Operations, and how these will work at launch. The information will also cover how the Grand Operations will change and expand throughout the course of Tides of War after the game’s launch.
