Digimon Survive has released some new details on the upcoming survival RPG. This includes the fact that your friends and party members can actually permanently die based on your choices. In addition, we got the first set of introductions to characters that you can meet, befriend, and potentially lose over the course of your adventures in the game’s harsh world.
It certainly seems that Digimon Survive is a more realistic and darker take on the series that has been primarily targeted towards children in the past. However, it seems that will all change with this latest entry in the series as the title is making good on the promise that “death and danger await” in this other world. Decisions are a huge part of the visual novel story, allowing you to shape how you progress through the game.
You will have the ability to make various decisions like who you will meet up and hang out with and what you will do during sections of the game where you have a limited amount of time to spend. These choices that you make throughout the story will have ramifications on what outcomes you receive. Indeed, some of the consequences based on your actions will result in the death of the other party members.
According to these new details via Siliconera, it seems that not one but “several” characters will be able to permanently die during the course of your adventure in this dangerous world. We also got introductions to the first two party members, Aoi Shibuya and Minoru Hyuga. Aoi takes care of cooking and the base; her partner Digimon is Labramon.
The other party member introduced is Minoru. Minoru has already been heavily featured in screenshots and trailers and is the classmate of your protagonist. He keeps the group together and deals with any bad blood among the party members. His partner is Falcomon. Stay tuned for more introductions in the future.
