Doom 2: What We Know and What We Want to See

Doom 2 is one of the games expected to be revealed during Bethesda’s showcase at E3. Although we do not know much about it, here are some of the facts we already know and some of the things we expect from a possible Doom 2 release.

What we know is that Doom is a first-person shooter game published by Bethesda and developed by id Software. While the 2016 version was a reboot of the Doom franchise and the fourth in line, Doom 2 is expected to be the sequel of the 2016 Doom, bringing the beasts and the action to Earth. We also expect it to focus on shooting instead of survival, since Doom was more like this while Doom 3 had the horror element, and survival was a mandatory requirement–if you wanted to finish the game, that is.

In the meantime, we have no clue on the game’s release date, but we can guess it will happen next year unless Bethesda surprises us with a different announcement–like this summer.

After the Senior Vice President of Marketing, Pete Hines, stated that E3 will be “hell on earth,” everybody assumed that this was a nice hint for a probable announcement of a Doom 2 release.

All we have to do to find out is tune in and watch the E3 press conference where Bethesda will reveal what it plans for the future today at 6pm Pacific Time, 9pm Eastern Time, 2am BST and 3am CEST.
