DOOM Eternal Gameplay Reveal Brings The DOOM Universe

Bethesda revealed the official gameplay of DOOM Eternal today at QuakeCon 2018. The sequel of DOOM 2016 will be so much better than its prequel. It brings new weapons, many fresh demons and monsters, the ability to invade another player’s campaign and many new environments to explore. DOOM Eternal will not simply be Hell on Earth, because the company is building a DOOM universe. All of this will be released on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.

DOOM Eternal’s gameplay reveal was astounding. Executive Producer Marty Stratton and Creative Director Hugo Martin were present to give fans all the information they needed. They started out by pointing out their goal to create the most powerful Doom Slayer they have ever made. Then they showcased some new updated familiar demons and upgraded unique weapons coming to the game. They looked okay until we got to watch them in-game during the gameplay reveal.

DOOM Eternal will feature the classic FPS gameplay style of DOOM with some newly added features to the weapons and a brand new way to jump around while you are the Doom Slayer himself. Demons and monsters are everywhere for real. Just as the developers promised us during E3 2018, the demons are twice as many. Everywhere you turn, there is a new monster waiting to attack you. But, the most impressive demon of all was Arch-Vile, who is making his comeback by entering your screen looking fabulous.

Of course, there were also many new surprises revealed that nobody expected for the upcoming DOOM sequel. First of all, players will now be able to take control of a demon and invade another player’s campaign. However, it is up to you whether you want to go full single-player with DOOM Eternal or start invading other player’s campaigns dressed like demons. Secondly, the game will move DOOM to Earth, but that is not the only place you will go. There are many other places and environments you will explore since the developers are now building a whole DOOM universe, not just another DOOM game.

The game will be playable at 60 FPS, and it will be released on PS4, PC, and Xbox One. Unfortunately, the developers did not reveal its release date yet, but rumor has it that it will come in 2019. You can watch the QuakeCon 2018 Keynote below that includes DOOM Eternal’s gameplay reveal.
