Bandai Namco released some key Dragon Ball FighterZ Switch details today. Fans of the upcoming Nintendo Switch port of the 2.5D anime fighting game will be happy to know that the wait will be certainly worth it. This version of the game will come with its own exclusive local multiplayer modes as well as an open beta for all Switch users around the world.
The Dragon Ball FighterZ Switch news was released not in an official press release – at least as of now – but in a tweet on the official Bandai Namco Twitter page. The Switch version of the game will not just come with everything that was included in the PC, PS4, and Xbox One releases back in January this year, but some exclusive modes of its own.
These new Dragon Ball FighterZ Switch modes will capitalize on the Switch’s focus on portability and local multiplayer. It will have not one, not two, but three local modes in total at launch. The first of these is local one on one mode where, presumably, players will choose only one fighter each instead of the typical three. The second mode is most likely the same concept, a two on two mode where players will select only two fighters each.
Lastly, the final Dragon Ball FighterZ Switch exclusive local multiplayer mode will an offline six-player party match mode. This sounds pretty bonkers but we’ll have to wait a little longer for Bandai Namco to release footage ahead of the game’s launch. What you won’t have to wait as long for is a chance to try out the game on Switch for yourself.
There will be a Dragon Ball FighterZ Switch open beta starting next month in August for players to check out. No other details were given like what would be available, when exactly, and for how long. Stay tuned right here for more information on the open beta’s release date.
