The Dragon Ball FighterZ Switch release date has been officially announced. Bandai Namco revealed this morning that the popular 2.5D anime fighting game is coming to the Nintendo Switch console later this year on September 28th, 2018. Fans won’t have to wait long to be able to take the gorgeous anime-style fighting game on the go and play it wherever they’d like. Bandai Namco assures fans that it’s well worth the wait.
Even though the Dragon Ball FighterZ Switch release date is far later in the year than its PS4 and Xbox One brethren, Bandai Namco is making up for that with some extra goodies. The original PS4 and Xbox One versions released at the start of this year on January 26th, 2018. There are some exclusives that Switch owners will get for waiting.
Anyone who pre-orders Dragon Ball FighterZ Switch will get early access to SSGSS, or Super Saiyan Blue, Goku and Vegeta. More importantly, though, there is a major extra bonus that only Switch owners of the game will get if they pre-order and it’s another game entirely. If you pre-order the game right now, you will receive the Japanese version of the Super Famicom game Dragon Ball Z: Super Butoden.
Unfortunately, we don’t know if you will get immediate access to that game with your pre-order. The bonuses for the Switch version are no surprise given how well Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 did on the Nintendo Switch when it launched there. The Dragon Ball FighterZ Switch release date for Japan was just revealed earlier this week for a day earlier than the Western one, September 27th.
While you wait for Dragon Ball FighterZ Switch, we recommend checking out our piece on SoulCalibur 6, another Japanese fighting game that will be arriving this year. It will have a robust story mode and an extra, surprise singleplayer mode for players to check out.
