In Fallout 76, there is the main quest-line, a number of standalone side quests, miscellaneous quests, and three sorts of variants; drop quests, daily quests, and repeatable quests. Of the three, drop quests have the most in common with side quests. What distinguishes them is that you’ll need particular items, and these item can appear at random. The Fallout 76 Ecological Balance drop quest is one of the first such quests you can come across.
How to Complete the Fallout 76 Ecological Balance Drop Quest
The Fallout 76 Ecological Balance drop quest is one of the earliest drop quests in the game. To start the quest, you’ll need to visit the Tygart Water Treatment building in the Forest region. On the northern side of the facility is a trailer and as you approach you should get the “Investigate the Trailer,” miscellaneous quest. In the trailer, look for a holotape and then use the terminal nearby. Select the “Messages” topic and then select “Date Night?”
With that selected, you should now trigger the start of Ecological Balance. You now need to head to Cow Spots Creamery and find the corpse of Amy Kerry. Recover “Amy’s Note,” and then return to Tygart Water Treatment. Use the terminal again, and this time select the “Environmental Monitoring Program” option, followed by “Establish Portable Device Link.”
With these tasks complete, you now have to recover three sets of data, and this is where things get a little trickier. You need to find three holotapes in total, one each for Air Data, Soil Data, and Water Data. You should receive markers suggesting their locations, but their exact positions will be different each time you do this quest. Once you have all three, return to the terminal and upload them. Once that’s done, you should be able to select “Begin Data Processing,” and that will complete the quest. Your rewards include Antiseptic, random ammo, aid items, and either plans, armour, mods, or weapons. There is also a chance you could receive a random legendary weapon or armour piece.
