The Fallout 76 Idle Explosives quest is a relatively straightforward quest. However, there is one complication thanks to its nature as a drop quest. Specifically, one troublesome random element; the exact location of the objective site. The mission’s rewards are decidedly than many other daily and drop quests, however, making Idle Explosives well worth doing.
How to Complete the Fallout 76 Idle Explosives Drop Quest
To get started with the Fallout 76 Idle Explosives drop quest, you’ll need to make your way to the Southern Belle Motel. The motel can be found in the southern portion of The Mire; close to the river and north of Harpers Ferry. Be warned that, of course, The Mire is a very dangerous area for lower level players. The region’s minimum level is 30. While this quest doesn’t actually require you to enter the motel, which is likely to be inhabited by ghouls, merely traversing the region to reach the motel could be a challenge for characters below level 30.
When you reach the Southern Belle Motel, search for Boomer. You can find this old robot near the centre of the motel. Note that there isn’t a miscellaneous quest directing you to the location, as there are for many other side quests. As such, you’ll need to take the initiative and search out Boomer yourself. Once you speak to the robot, the quest should begin. Boomer will send you somewhere in Appalachia to recover inert explosives. The exact location of these explosives is, however, totally random. Once you’ve collected all of the explosives, you will complete the quest.
While the quest is relatively simple, the rewards are particularly good. As per usual, you’ll receive random ammo and aid items, with a chance to also receive a random legendary armour piece or weapon. Additionally, you’ll receive aluminium, adhesive, and most importantly, plans for the Blast Mine.
