New Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Trailer Highlights Season One Weapons
Although Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season One has been live for about a week now, Activision has released a new Modern Warfare trailer just for the two new weapons added as part of the new season; the Holger-26 and RAM-7. Both of these weapons are available through the Season One Battle Pass system for free, without players needing to buy the full Battle Pass.
The New Weapons in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season One
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season One Battle Pass features 100 tiers of content for players to unlock, and a whole range of rewards. These mostly include COD points and cosmetics. However, they also include the two new weapons. However, presumably in an effort to avoid accusations of being pay-to-win, Infinity Ward has ensured that both weapons are available in the 20 Battle Pass tiers which all players can unlock for free; every player has free access to these 20 tiers, but must buy the Battle Pass to get the other 80.
The first of the new weapons is the Holger-26, a new light machine gun available at Tier 15. The weapon boasts a very fast firing rate; faster that most other comparable weapons, in fact. The second new weapon is available at Tier 31. This is the RAM-7, a bullpup assault rifle that excels in close-quarters shootouts. You can even unlock a 9mm magazine for the RAM-7, making it even more effective up close.
It’s unknown why Activision chose to release a weapons trailer a week after the Season launched. After all, many players may well have already unlocked these new weapons. It’s possible that it could be more general marketing to bring players back for Season One, if the game’s player count has begun to reduce. Or, its release may simply be timed for The Game Awards, when lots of people will be following the news more closely. Whatever the case, both of these new weapons are available for free, right now, in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s first season.
