If you thought Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 looked good, you’re not alone, and it’s certainly not just your imagination. Outlet PCGamesN can confirm this, especially as they just sat down with Activision to play the game at E3 2018 with something of a surprise during the appointment. The team was told that the game was actually running at 160fps on Activision’s PCs at the event, used to demo it for patrons.
Uncapped frame rates were previously promised for the PC version of Black Ops 4 in addition to niceties like HDR, 4K, and ultrawide monitor support as well as a release on Battle.net, Blizzard’s gaming platform. With that in mind, it’s clear to see that Black Ops 4 has been created with PC gamers in mind this time around, rather than the game getting a haphazard port to PC with the regular things ticked off like a checklist.
Treyarch seems to really be getting behind PC gamers, and the platform in general, possibly since the competition is fierce between other Battle Royale titles, which also happen to heavily support PC: Fortnite and PUBG. With graphics like the PC version has the potential to feature, it could end up that Black Ops 4 is one of the best-looking games to enter the battle royale arena, even though Battlefield V has been reported to be entering the same ring as well. Developer Treyarch had previously told PCGamesN that the studio really wanted to focus on PC as a “unique platform” in the past, and that this is all part of an effort to give PC players “what they deserve.”
Hopefully when the game goes live, we’ll see similarly awesome specs from consumers, that is…if your PC can handle power like that, after all. You may end up having to opt for a console version if you don’t think your gaming rig is up to the challenge.
