EA Play Apex Legends Stream Recap: What’s Next in Apex Legends?

Season 5 of Apex Legends has brought a lot of exciting changes, but what is next? Tonight was the Apex Legends stream during EA Play. It wasn’t a long feature, but it was packed with action and exciting announcements—especially for those of you who are wondering whether Apex Legends might be coming to new platforms. Let’s check out everything we learned in our EA Play Apex Legends stream recap.

Here is What We Learned from the EA Play Apex Legends Stream

The first big announcement during the stream was the Lost Treasures Collection Event, which is coming on June 23rd. The voiceover teased, “Adventures, raiders, explorers—they risk everything in search of fame, fortune and answers … few find what they’re looking for. But if they survive, they may walk away with lost treasures.”

Players can look forward to the return of the limited time mode Armed and Dangerous. This mode features only snipers and shotguns. There won’t be any respawn beacons on the map, but instead, you’ll have a mobile respawn beacon which you can use to choose when and where to bring back your teammates. All armor will be Evo armor.

Also, as seemed to be teased in Kings Canyon with a new banner, Crypto’s Map Room Town Takeover is on the way, which will include a “closer look at what motivates” Crypto.

Finally, EA dropped some huge announcements in terms of platforms. First of all, Apex Legends is coming to Steam. Secondly—and more unexpectedly—the game will also be on Nintendo Switch as of this fall. Those announcements were already awesome, but it gets better. There will be cross-play as well. So, you can now play with your friends on every platform Apex Legends is on.
