EA Sports’ FIFA 19 sales numbers in the UK are showing some dominance into early October. The game has remained so strong that it held off two brand new titles as well. That seems to bode well for EA as they’re heading into the holiday shopping season. However, a few new games that release this coming week may present some competition to the football (soccer) game.
FIFA 19 Sales Rank No. 1 in the UK
The latest sales figures arrive from UKIE and Chart-Track. As it stands, FIFA 19 is the best of the bunch for the week ending October 6th. It was able to fend off two popular franchises as well. The past week saw Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey and Forza Horizon 4 released. They took the second and third spots, respectively, with the popular Spider-Man game ranking No. 4 on the sales chart.
- FIFA 19
- Assassin’s Creed Odyssey
- Forza Horizon 4
- Marvel’s Spider-Man
- Super Mario Party
- Shadow of the Tomb Raider
- Tekken 7
- Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy
- Project Cars 2
- Grand Theft Auto V
Also notable in the sales chart is the fact that Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V remains in the top 10. The game was first released back in 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It moved onto the newer consoles, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, in November 2014. That goes to show how popular this particular title remains thanks to extensive online multiplayer content.
FIFA 19 sales to face more competition
FIFA 19 was No. 1 for the past two weeks and managed to hold off those popular new titles. However, 2K Sports’ new WWE 2K19 game will arrive as of Tuesday everywhere, including the United Kingdom. Many gamers who pre-ordered WWE 2K19 early release editions of the title already received their copies as of Friday last week.
There’s also Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 coming to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as of October 12. This is another title that could present some strong competition to EA’s FIFA 19 sales in the coming week.
On the Amazon UK top 100 PC & Video Games best sellers list, Red Dead Redemption 2 (out Oct. 26) for the PS4 is No. 1 with FIFA 19 for the PS4 and Xbox in the No. 2 and 3 spots, respectively. Call of Duty: Black Ops for PS4 and Xbox are at the No. 4 and No. 6 spots, while WWE 2K19 for PS4 is the No. 14 game right now.
It should be interesting to see if the immensely popular sports game continues to hold onto the top spot in the UK, or if one of the newer games takes over. the FIFA 19 game is available for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PCs.
