A FIFA 20 Copa Libertadores mode is officially coming to the game several months now. While it’s not a brand new development, EA Sports revealed an official trailer video and some details for the upcoming mode. Here’s a look at what arrived ahead of the official release date for the upcoming content.
EA’s FIFA 20 Copa Libertadores trailer video
The CONMEBOL Libertadores is the biggest club tournament in South America. It officially began nearly six decades ago and currently features 47 total teams from 10 different associations. Due to its popularity, it’s coming to the FIFA 20 game as a free content update for gamers to enjoy.
In an official trailer video released on Wednesday, EA Sports FIFA reveals the upcoming CONMEBOL Libertadores tournament mode. The video displays real-life footage which shows off the players, fans, and venues that make the tournament exciting.
According to EA’s website, the FIFA 20 Copa Libertadores will be a free content update for gamers who have FIFA on PS4, Xbox One, and PCs. However, it arrives in 2020, so there will be a bit of a wait before gamers can enjoy it.
Other CONMEBOL tournament mode details
There was a bit of confusion in some comments responding to EA’s social media posts. However, EA states on their site that gamers can “play with clubs from Uruguay, Perú, Paraguay, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina and beyond at the pinnacle of South American club football.”
EA also says, “Lead historic South American teams like River Plate, Boca Juniors, Flamengo, Corinthians, Racing Club, C.A. Independiente, Colo-Colo and Universidad Católica, and follow in the footsteps of stars like Vinícius Jr. and Kaká through the heated competition of CONMEBOL Libertadores, CONMEBOL Sudamericana and CONMEBOL Recopa.”
Most likely, this will be an update similar to other patch or title updates. So it should automatically download and install upon launching the game. In FIFA 19, gamers were able to enjoy a free content update with the Women’s World Cup tournament.
The CONMEBOL Libertadores content update officially arrives in March 2020.
