The popular Madden 20 Franchise online mode has been taken offline as EA’s Franchise team works to fix a major issue that arrived earlier this past week. On Saturday, November 9, EA issued the update to let gamers know when they might expect to see the mode back. So far, it appears that the community is unhappy with the news, though, as they showed their disappointment on Twitter.
Madden 20 Franchise Online mode is offline until further notice
EA Madden Community Manager EA_Kraelo posted the news on Saturday (Nov. 9). In his update, he mentions the issue was that some gamers were unable to log into Online Franchise Leagues earlier this week. EA_Kraelo goes on to say that the teams attempted to release a “server side fix” to address the issue. However, that fix brought more issues as Franchise servers began to lock up.
Due to all of the problems, they ultimately took Madden 20 Franchise Online mode temporarily offline. This will stay in effect as the team continues their work on the issue. Unfortunately, it appears that it will be at least three more days until they’ve resolved the issue and restore Franchise Online. Per the announcement, the next status update is coming on November 12, which gives the team the three-day weekend to work on things.
While the Franchise Online modes are offline, it’s noted that Offline Franchise and QB1 Franchise will still be available for gamers to use. The Madden Ultimate Team and Superstar KO modes, which are both online modes, also appears to be working, as of this report.
Gamers react to upsetting news about Franchise issue
Needless to say, many members of the Madden gaming community who enjoy Madden 20 Franchise Online were not happy with the news. Some people took to their personal Twitter accounts to tweet out their frustration over the latest server status and game issues.
Other gamers replied to Kraelo’s tweet of the news on Saturday, expressing that they were upset with how EA Madden team is handling things.
“Lol only took 15 hours for someone to say something….good look @EASPORTS can’t believe @NFL let’s them rep their brand,” one Twitter user commented.
“Much worse timeline than I expected,” another said.
Yet another Twitter reply questioned the way in which EA will handle things with the lost time. “EA really does need to start offering refunds. Messing up content on MUT is one thing, but not being able to play Franchise at all is just crazy,” the Twitter user suggested.
With some of the other game issues, the EA Madden team has usually given gamers some sort of in-game reward as a result of the inconvenience. So it should be interesting to see what transpires with Madden 20 Franchise Online mode down for the amount of time it is.
