Bethesda has given players of The Elder Scrolls Online a very limited window in which to have a chance to get free in-game pets. The offer marks National Dog Day, and gives fans a chance to claim one of four different Elder Scrolls Online pets. However, players now have less than 24 hours to take advantage of the event.
The Elder Scrolls Online Pets Offer
The offer was announced around an hour ago by the official Elder Scrolls Online Twitter account. To make National Dog Day, it explains; “Reply to this tweet with a picture of your pupper by 12pm EDT tomorrow for a chance to win one of the following #ESO pets: Bravil Retriever, Black Mask Bear-Dog, Alliance War Dog, or Great Daenian Hound.”
Calling all doggo lovers! It’s #NationalDogDay.

Of course, the four Elder Scrolls Online pets up for grabs are all different in-game breeds of dog. Fans will need to reply to the original tweet soon with a picture of their own dog to be in with a chance of getting one. This isn’t merely a chance to acquire a free pet, however. All but one of the listed dogs are not easy to acquire in-game, either. In fact, two of them are completely impossible to get hold of.
The Alliance War Dog is currently available for purchase in the in-game Crown Store at a cost of 1,000 crowns. However, both the Bravil Retriever and Black-Mask Bear Dog are actually unavailable in the game. They were once available in the in-game Crown Store. However, the Retriever was discontinued back in August 2016, while the Bear Dog was removed in March of 2017. The Bear Dog was also once available as a legendary award from Storm Atronach Crown Crates, but no longer. The Great Daenian Hound, and its variant, the Silver Daenian Werewolf Tracker are a part of the recent Wolfhunter DLC. According to Bethesda, the dog’s were inspired by the game’s Creative Director’s own dogs.
