Today, Elder Scrolls fans have a new reason to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass, if they haven’t already. This is because The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition is now available to play through the subscription service, on both consoles and Android mobile devices.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on Xbox Game Pass
“Winner of more than 200 Game of the Year Awards,” writes Xbox; “the Skyrim Special Edition includes the game and add-ons with all-new features like remastered art and effects, volumetric god rays, dynamic depth of field, and more. Also bring the power of mods to consoles. New quests, environments, characters, dialogue, armor, weapons and more – with Mods, there are no limits to what you can experience.”
While Skyrim has always been available on console, many gamers may not have picked up the Special Edition when it came out. Now, the game is available to play through Xbox Game Pass, along with the service’s full library, which recently came to include the EA Play library as well. The other big addition for gamers is the lure of mods; Skyrim mods have a troubled history on console, but when the Special Edition launched, it opened the doors for mods to come to console. Mods are available through the game on Xbox Game Pass as well. However, PC gamers should note that – at least for now – Skyrim is not available via Xbox Game Pass for PC.
Skyrim isn’t the only game coming to Xbox Game Pass this week. Both Among Us and Code Vein, for example, together with The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan, are due to come to Xbox Game Pass tomorrow on the 17th of December. The EA Play library, which came to Xbox Game Pass last month at no extra cost, was due to launch on PC on the 15th. However, this launch has been delayed to 2021.
