Several new gameplay modes have already come to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War since the start of Season One. However, Treyarch has now revealed that even more are on the horizon, coming at some stage in the next few weeks. These include Endurance Mode, a Snipers Only Moshpit, and more.
Black Ops Cold War: Endurance Mode & More
With the launch of last week’s Mid-Season Update, the last of the new gameplay modes teased at the start of Season One was introduced. This last mode was Dropkick, where teams compete for control of a nuclear briefcase. However, with the release of a new roadmap, Treyarch has revealed that several more modes are still to come in the last few weeks of Season One.
The first of these modes is Snipers Only Moshpit, a mode which first featured in Modern Warfare. This 6v6 mode features Team Deathmatch and Domination variants with sniper rifles as the only available weapons. Of course, players won’t be able to use Scorestreak weapons or lethal equipment; it’s “Snipers Only” after all!
The next big mode coming to Black Ops Cold War is something called ‘Endurance’ mode; a variant of the game’s existing 10-man-team mode. “In the upcoming Endurance variant,” explains Treyarch; “10 squads of four will drop into Alpine, Ruka, and Sanatorium to collect uranium and arm bombs throughout the match. However, after one bomb detonates, a new one will now come online to take its place”. This rolling deployment of new bombs ensures that players always have five targets. (As opposed to fighting over the same initial five bomb locations.) Interestingly, Treyarch will be doubling the score limit in Endurance mode from 500 to 1,000.
Finally, more 3v3 modes will be coming to Black Ops Cold War as the Face Off series continues. Thus far, 3v3 Face Off variants of Domination, Kill Confirmed, and Team Deathmatch have launched, all taking place on the new Gunfight maps. More of these modes are reportedly on the way before the end of the season.
