Epic Games brought back shopping carts to Fortnite back for a very limited time, and then just as quickly as it introduced them, took them away again. According to Epic today, they’ve been disabled due to “ongoing issues.” Talk about a disappointment!
There have been problems going on with the shopping carts ever since their inception, as the company has taken them away, brought them back, and taken them away several times over since they were brought into the game. They were originally meant to offer easy and fast ways for players to make their way around the map in an expedient matter, but they’ve since been causing issues, like allowing players to break open meteors. It’s unclear how problematic they actually are, however, nor did Epic’s tweets detail exactly what the issue is this time around.
It looks like there’s going to be quite a bit of a wait when it comes to getting our hands on the shopping carts again, especially since Epic Games is playing the “add things, then take them away” game for now. Hopefully by the time the next update rolls around, the problems have been resolved, including the Shopping Cart glitch that will let players wipe out the entirety of the map.
In the meantime, at least there are plenty of new items to tinker around with, and weird things that could be heralding the beginning of Season 5 happening across the map. It’s a crazy time to be a Fortnite fan, that’s for sure, but as soon as we know more about the shopping cart debacle, we’ll make sure we pass it on to you as well. It’s a strange situation, but hopefully they’re back in the game soon enough, as we certainly miss them. Are you finding that you’re missing them as well?
