Fortnite Battle Royale players will receive a couple of big things next week. Epic Games has already revealed the highlights of patch 5.40, which will be released on Tuesday, September 4. However, the game developer already released a teaser for a new event which will come to the game next week.

Players are eagerly waiting for these new additions to come to the game, and we can expect the event to come out the same day as the upcoming patch.

At the moment, no one but Epic Games knows what exactly this event will be. The game developer posted a tweet saying that the High Stakes event would begin next week, and that it will include a new limited-time game mode, an exclusive skin, and new challenges.

It is currently unknown what else this event is going to include, but if we had a guess, we would say that it is Epic Games’ way of concluding season 5. With less than a month left in the season, the game developer has slowly begun introducing season 6, and the upcoming event may be used for it.

Additionally, the event might have to do something with the mysterious cube. Right now, the Cube is close to Shifty Shafts and it may reach its final destination for the High Stakes event.

Fortnite Battle Royale developer announced that the event would bring the new Getaway limited-time game mode, and that players will be given exclusive challenges. There will also be the Wild Card skin, but it is unknown whether this skin will be purchasable through the in-game store, or simply earned through the challenges.

Beside this event, the upcoming patch will bring some huge gameplay changes, including storm damage to player-built structures in the final stages of the game. Additionally, players will get new rarities for two weapons, and there will be some changes to item stacking.
