In March this year, WWE 2K22 released, the first WWE 2K game since 2020, when WWE 2K Battlegrounds came out. That year, there was no regular WWE 2K game; the most recent entry was WWE 2K20 in 2019. WWE 2K22 received praise for its physics, gameplay, character models, and new game modes. If you’ve been enjoying WWE 2K22, you are probably already excited for the next game in the series. Let’s go over everything we know about WWE 2K23 so far.
WWE 2K23 Release Date Predictions
First of all, WWE 2K23 has been confirmed during the course of an earnings call at Take-Two. So, we know for sure the game is coming. As far as a release timeframe goes, the company mentioned “Fiscal 2023” during the call. But there is still no official release date.
WWE 2K22 released on March 11th, 2022. So, it seems most likely that WWE 2K23 will release in March 2023, likely on a Friday. So, a good possibility would be Friday, March 10th, 2023. But again, this is just a guess!
When Will We Get a WWE 2K23 Trailer?
By this point last year, there had already been a few teasers for WWE 2K22. In November 2021, a feature reveal trailer showed up. So, it seems like we could expect a trailer for WWE 2K23 any time now.
WWE 2K23 Game Modes and Features
It seems likely that we can expect popular game modes in WWE 2K22 to also be part of WWE 2K23. So, we should be able to look forward to playing MyRISE, MyGM, the 2K Showcase and Universe Mode. MyGM and MyRISE in particular may be expanded in the next game (this is just a rumor; there is no solid information yet).
In terms of features players are hoping for, many have mentioned wanting custom entrances. But we probably will not see this happen because of limitations involved with different platforms.
WWE 2K23 Roster
Assuming nothing changes IRL, some fighters we can expect to be part of WWE 2K23 when the game releases include Omos, Cody Rhodes, Bron Breakker, Rick Boogs, Doudrop and Commander Azeez.
There have also been some departures. Some wrestlers you can not expect to appear in WWE 2K23 include Brawn Strowman, Fandango, Mickie James, Lana, Tyler Breeze or Nia Jax.
WWE 2K23 Cover Star Predictions
One of the biggest questions on everyone’s minds whenever a WWE 2K game is on the way is, “Who will be on the cover?” As you probably know, the cover athlete for WWE 2K22 was none other than Rey Mysterio.
We still don’t know what athlete will grace the cover of WWE 2K23, but here are a few possible candidates:
- Cody Rhodes
- Roman Reigns
- Bianca Belair
What Will WWE 2K23 Cost?
We can make predictions about the cost of WWE 2K23 by considering the pricing for this year’s game. WWE 2K22’s Standard Edition sells for $59.99 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, and for $69.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
WWE 2K22 also is available in a Deluxe Edition, which sells for $99.99 on all platforms. For $119.99, you can buy the WWE 2K22 nWo 4-Life Edition. Finally, there is the $79.99 WWE 2K22 Cross-Gen Digital Bundle.
We have every reason to assume the pricing scheme will be identical for WWE 2K23. So, you should be able to grab the game starting at $59.99, with pricing running as high as $119.99.
WWE 2K23 Platforms and Pre-Order
As just discussed, the most recent iteration of this series is available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. WWE 2K23 will presumably also be available on all of these same platforms.
WWE 2K22 became available to pre-order in late January, 2022. That means we can likewise expect WWE 2K23 to also become available for pre-order in January 2023. We can assume that pre-order benefits for WWE 2K23 will be similar to what they were in the 2022 game.
That wraps up everything we know about WWE 2K23 so far. Just to be clear, everything stated above is more an educated guess at this point than anything actually “known” about the game. Everything is subject to change. So, check back with us again soon for more rumors and news about WWE 2K23.
