Atlas Superstore is one of the latest new map additions in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, part of the game’s second Season’s batch of new content. Unlike other recent new additions, this map is almost entirely indoor. Plus, it’s also completely new, rather than a remake of an old map from a past game. Here’s what you can expect to find after loading into Modern Warfare’s new Atlas Superstore…
The New Modern Warfare Atlas Superstore Map
While it may look like relatively harmless, compared with most maps in Modern Warfare, Atlas Superstore can actually play host to some truly brutal, close-quarters firefights. While much of the map is dominated by one single huge room, the store’s high shelves which separate aisles can make it feel much more claustrophobic. As such, close-range weapons for mobile skirmishing are likely to excel, although that’s not to say that there aren’t a few vantage points for snipers here and there.
When a match begins, Allegiance forces will spawn in at the Backlot. Meanwhile, the Coalition players enter via the Loading Docks. These areas are found at the east and west ends of a map which is widest from east to west. As such, the maze of aisles and obstacles around the centre of the map are likely to see fierce fighting. This is further reinforced in objective game modes. The Mid Stockpile area, for instance, plays host to an objective in Cyber Attack, Hardpoint, Headquarters, and Search & Destroy.
Although there are some skylights on the Atlas Superstore map, aerial Killstreaks are much more limited on this map. As such, you’re better off taking other options. With so many opportunities for close-range engagements and ambushes, consider using short-range weapons like SMGs or shotguns together with stealth-based perks. Dead Silence, for instance, will let you creep silently around behind aisles. Speed can also be valuable here, helping you move from skirmish to skirmish. As such, Double Time could be a great perk choice here.
