Fallout 4: New Vegas is one of the most ambitious Fallout 4 mod projects around; it has even received the seal of approval from Bethesda itself. The team behind the project post regular updates on the mod’s official Facebook account, and have been making significant progress lately. Now, they have unveiled a new 10-minute gameplay demo which showcases the rebuilt opening and character creation process.
The Fallout 4: New Vegas Opening and Character Creation
Testament to the popularity of the Fallout 4: New Vegas mod project is the fact that the demo, released just a couple of days ago, has already accrued over 400,000 views on YouTube. The project is one of the highest profile ones around at present for the Fallout modding community. The aim of Fallout 4: New Vegas is to recreate the entirety of Fallout: New Vegas within Fallout 4. However, rather than create a 1:1 replica, the team are aiming to make a host of improvements and tweaks. This is the first time the team have shown off a significant amount of gameplay.
The demo focuses on the opening from Fallout: New Vegas, as the player wakes up in Doc Mitchell’s care. Mitchell then proceeds to guide the player through the game’s character creation process, including determining their appearance, S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats, and more. All of these elements were shown to have been recreated in Fallout 4: New Vegas. The demo did not leave Mitchell’s house, but nonetheless gave fans an indication of the progress which is being made. They got a glimpse of the updated dialogue system, as well as the Fallout: New Vegas quests appearing in Fallout 4’s quest display.
The Fallout 4: New Vegas team have recently shown off redesigns for a number of different weapons; hopefully, their next demonstration may give fans an example of those weapons in use. Thus far, the modders have not shown examples of combat in the upcoming mod.
