Not All Fallout 76 Achievements Will Carry Over From the BETA

When the Fallout 76 BETA took place, the game’s achievements/trophies were all disabled. Given that Bethesda told players that all of their progress would carry over to the full release, fans were left wondering whether that would include any of the Fallout 76 Achievements and Trophies. Indeed, this was a question which went unanswered until now. According to Pete Hines, only some will carry over, while a sizeable portion will not.

Fallout 76 Achievements Will Only Partially Carry Over

Responding to fan questions on Twitter, Pete Hines explained that although some of the game’s Achievements or Trophies would carry over with a player’s progress, not all of them will. More specifically, those related to quests will not be carrying over; “To clarify on achievements/trophies for Fallout 76:” explains Pete Hines; “If there’s an achievement for a quest (finish a thing, leave the Vault) you did in BETA you will have to use a new character to get that achievement. If it’s for things like build a CAMP or craft a weapon, those should unlock.”

Granted, the news will only affect those players who participated in the BETA. Indeed, many of those players may either; a) have been planning to start a new character anyway, or; b) not care about Achievements or Trophies. Nonetheless, the news is likely to cause some consternation for other players who were hoping to continue their BETA play-through and aim for 100% completion.

Fortunately, given that the BETA was only open to players for a relatively limited amount of time; most players shouldn’t need to redo too much with a new character to unlock the achievements which won’t be carrying over. In fact, PC players in that position can get an early start doing so if they wish; the game appears to have gone live ahead of schedule and is currently playable worldwide!
