When you complete the Final Departure quest at Morgantown Airport, you should automatically acquire the next main quest; An Ounce of Prevention. This quest will continue your investigation of the Responders’ Inoculation Project which you found records of at the airport. Before you leave, be sure to pick up the Tentative Plans and Safe for Work side quests which are at the airport. Then it’s time to head south for the Fallout 76 An Ounce of Prevention main quest.
How to Complete the Fallout 76 An Ounce of Prevention Main Quest
Your first task is to reach the AVR Medical Centre, which can be found on the southern border of the Forest region. This building is completely overrun with Scorched so proceed with caution. Be careful not to get overwhelmed in the derelict corridors. To reach your objective marker you need to access the building’s basement. If you enter the building from the north, you can find stairs down just to your right. Once you access the basement, use the AVR Medical Laboratory Terminal to read the “Inoculation Project Overview” log.
Reading the file will give you a list of items which you now need to collect. You need a Type-T Fuse and 3 Blood Samples; one each from a Feral Ghoul, a Mole Rat, and a Wolf. To start with, head north to Greg’s Mine Supply to find the Type-T Fuse. This location lies between the AVR Medical Centre and Morgantown Airport, southeast of Vault 76. To access the building, head down to the basement of the building across the street; this will lead you to a tunnel which connects into the basement of Greg’s Mine Supply. The fuse can be found in a crate on the ground floor.
Collecting the Blood Samples for the Vaccine
To collect the blood samples you simply need to kill one of each of the creatures then collect a sample from their corpses. Three objective sites are indicated on the map; one for each of the creatures. However, you don’t actually need to collect the samples at these sites. If you encounter one of the creatures elsewhere you can collect a sample from them without any problems. If you don’t want to hunt around for the creatures then head for each of the objective sites. Once you have everything, head back to the Medical Centre. Install the Fuse in a fuse box located to the right-hand side of the Laboratory Terminal. This will power up the centrifuge, which you can now use to analyse the blood samples. Once you do this, use the Sympto-Matic to administer the vaccine and complete the quest.
By completing the Fallout 76 An Ounce of Prevention main quest, you’ll earn a variety of rewards. You’ll get Radaway, Diluted Rad-X, and the recipes for both of these as well. You’ll also get a new photo frame and a random legendary armour piece or weapon. Finally, completing the quest will automatically start the next main quest; Into the Fire.
