The release of Fallout 76 is imminent; around one month from now. The game’s pre-Beta Stress Test begins today, while the Beta itself will start in just over one week’s time. That Beta will be gamers’ first chance to experience Fallout 76’s new Perk Card system. A substantial change from the format of the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system in previous titles, Perk Cards will allow players to change their abilities on the fly. Players gain randomised Perk Card packs as a reward for levelling up at some levels, and will amass a collection of abilities which can be assigned to each of their seven S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attributes.
All the Fallout 76 Endurance Perk Cards Revealed So Far
Ten Endurance Perk Cards from Fallout 76 have been revealed so far in gameplay or trailers. Thus far, Endurance Perk Cards seem to do what players would expect; make you tougher and improve your resistances to things like radiation. A notable new inclusion are Perk Cards which make you hardier for the purposes of the new survival mechanics. For the first time in the series, Fallout 76 will include actual survival mechanics like hunger and thirst. If you want to go longer without food, Endurance Perk Cards are the ones for you.
- All Night Long: Although we know the name of this card, its actual effects are unknown.
- Aquagirl: You can breathe underwater and will no longer take rad damage from swimming.
- Dromedary: When you drink, it quenches your thirst by an extra 25%.
- Professional Drinker: At present, only the effects of Rank 3 of this card are known; immunity to alcohol addiction. It’s unknown what the lower-rank effects will be; a percentage chance to avoid addiction seems a safe bet.
- Revenant: When another player revives you, you gain a 25% damage bonus for 2 minutes.
- Slow Metabolizer: Another Perk Card which improves your survival skills; any food you eat will sate your hunger by an extra 15%.
- Vaccinated: At rank 2, this card grants you a 60% chance to avoid catching diseases. Presumably, and similar to some of the Strength Perk Cards, this will grant 30% at rank 1.
The following new Endurance Perk Cards appeared during the Greenbrier Fallout 76 press event. These were either new reveals, or the cards had been changed since earlier reveals:
- Iron Stomach: When you eat, you have a 30% lower chance of catching a disease.
- Lead Belly: When you eat and drink, you take 30% less radiation.
- Thirst Quencher: When you drink, you have a 30% lower chance of catching a disease.
