The Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition is Seemingly Back in Stock, But Only in Japan
Around two weeks ago, the Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition went out of stock. The most expensive version of the game available, the edition came with a wearable T-51b Power Armor helmet. At the time, Bethesda stated that the edition only had limited stock, and that they had no plans to produce more. However, it seems that the edition is now back in stock in Japan. So, will fans soon be able to get their hands on the edition elsewhere too? Unfortunately, the answer is “probably not.”
The Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition
First announced at E3, the Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition is the largest and most expensive version of the game. That is hardly surprising given what it comes with; the edition comes with a copy of the game, a glow-in-the-dark map of the West Virginia setting, several collectable figurines, and a wearable helmet based on that of T-51b Power Armor. The helmet even features a voice modulator and working headlamp. It retails at around $200. Although the edition has been out of stock for the last two weeks, it recently became available again in Japan, as reported by SegmentNext. Unfortunately for fans still hoping to get their hands on a copy, this is very unlikely to herald the edition becoming available again elsewhere.
When the edition first sold out, numerous fans contacted Bethesda to ask if there would be more. Pete Hines, the company’s Vice President of Global Marketing, was very clear in his response. Not only were the helmets difficult to make, but; “there’s no way to make any more”. He explained in a follow-up Tweet that the helmets were made in a limited run and all of those created were available. If stock has run dry, there won’t be any more.
They’re not quick or easy to make. We got as many lines making them as possible in order to get them finished and assembled in time for launch. I’m sorry if you didn’t get one.

The return to stock of the edition in Japan could have all manner of explanations; it could easily be that a shipment containing some of the editions was delayed, or that pre-orders were cancelled, allowing some of the products to return to sale. Given the surety of Pete Hines’ response that more cannot and will not be produced; it seems very unlikely indeed that they will return to stock elsewhere, unless Bethesda makes a significant change.
