Yesterday, Bethesda ran the first of several planned Fallout 76 Stress Tests. This event is only available to gamers on Xbox, through the Xbox Insider Hub app. The Stress Test will be many fans’ first chance to play Fallout 76 ahead of the game’s Beta launch later this month. If you want to participate in the test, there’s still time to get involved. Here’s how to apply, and how to find out what the Fallout 76 Stress Test times will be.
The Fallout 76 Stress Test
The first Stress Test took place yesterday, on the 13th of October. Bethesda has not made a full schedule available anywhere; instead, you need to follow both @fallout and @bethesdastudios on Twitter. Both accounts will be Tweeting out the Stress Test start times ahead of each scheduled event. Yesterday’s test took place from 5 PM ET to 9 PM ET. Fallout thanked participants after it concluded, and told fans to look forward to the next stress test.
Thank you everyone who joined us for our #Fallout76 Stress Test!

To be selected to take part in one of the Fallout 76 Stress Tests, you need to apply via the Xbox Insider Hub app on your Xbox One. To do this, simply download the app from the Store, launch it, and find the “Fallout 76 Stress Test” option beneath the Insider Content tab. Once you click “Join,” you’ll need to accept the terms of use. Note that Fallout 76 is still covered by NDA (non-disclosure agreement), meaning that you won’t be allowed to share any of your gameplay with anybody else, etc. You’ll need to agree to this along with the other terms of use.
Note that, of course, you will need to have pre-ordered a copy of Fallout 76. If you ordered a physical copy, rather than digitally on Xbox One, you’ll need to redeem your token on Xbox. Full details on how to access the Fallout 76 Stress Test can be found in Bethesda’s Official F.A.Q. It’s relevant to note that the Stress Test will not allow players to save their progress for the Beta, which will take place later this month.
