There’s no shortage of rumours, speculation, and uncomfirmed “leaks” when it comes to GTA 6. Of course, Rockstar haven’t even confirmed that the game is in development, let alone announced anything concrete. However, a new fan theory has recently been pieced together, based on content in the newly-released Diamond Casino Heist. Some fans believe that the theory might have revealed a cunningly hidden GTA 6 announcement date.
The New GTA 6 Announcement Date Fan Theory
First posted on Reddit by a user who goes by TheFrimWare, the theory is more than a little convoluted. However, it has certainly attracted attention from fans. Essentially, the theory centres on a single corridor in the Diamond Casino which features during the new heist. On one side of the hall is the number “510”, while on the other is the word “Service,” with the word broken up into two lines. Read together, as the theory indicates, it could read “510 VICE.”
The second part of the word is notable here; after all, it has long been rumoured that GTA 6 could return to Vice City. Alone, this theory is relatively doubtful, however. After all, Borderlands fans might recall a similar theory regarding numbers on buildings which was incorrect in the end. However, there is a second part to this theory over in Red Dead Online. Madam Nazar, a character who was also added in a recent update, reportedly says at one point that; “I see numbers, 5, 1, 0, 2, 0.”
It could be pure coincidence, of course. However, the proponents of the theory believe that the numbers are pointing to the 5th of October, 2020. As the theory points out, the last four of Rockstar’s new game trailers were released during Q3 in their respective years. (October – December.) The 5th of October would make sense as an announcement date in that context. And, of course, the prior reference to “Vice” certainly could indicate GTA 6. Of course, we won’t know for sure until much closer to the time, months from now. Of course, this theory may prove to be nothing. Or, even if it is a teaser for a date, it could be for something much less consequential. However, there’s no ruling out that this theory isn’t at least a possibility, at least not yet.
