What to Know About the Destiny DLC Beyond Light
Beyond Light is not only going to be the game’s next DLC, but it will also be the first step towards Destiny’s transition to 9th generation consoles. The downloadable content is scheduled for release just a couple of months before the launch of next-gen consoles, but those who will be purchasing a PlayStation 5 or an Xbox Series X, will have the opportunity to continue developing their guardians using their new console, through the game’s cross-save feature. This, of course, does not mean that the activity on the current gaming systems will be discontinued. Eighth generation device players will be able to continue playing the game exactly as they do now. The only difference is that they will also be able to play together or against players using a PlayStation 5 or an Xbox Series X.

Two More DLCs Announced
Bungie’s executives caught the gaming community by surprise when they announced that Destiny 2 would be getting three major extensions. During a time when most gaming developers are working hard to produce titles that will be ready to launch upon the release of the ninth-generation consoles, Bungie is investing in its already successful – yet 3-year-old – title. Beyond Light will be followed by The Witch Queen in 2021 and by Lightfall in 2022.
In an effort to contain the contents of the game and to save up some server space, Bungie has decided to start “vaulting” certain areas. This process is currently in its final planning stages, so the actual “vaulting” is expected to commence when Beyond Light gets released. The areas that will be affected or lost are Leviathan, Mars, Mercury, Io and Titan.
