Far Cry 5’s 1.05 Update Allows Players to Redo Character Customization

Ubisoft’s 1.05 update for Far Cry 5 has now been released across all platforms. The update targets a few key areas for fixes and tweaks. Character customization and accessibility have been changed, and a whole slew of general improvements have also been made.

Customization

Update 1.05 adds two new options to the Avatar Customization Menu. The first of these is that you now have the option to re-do the character creation process. While you don’t actually see your character very often in Far Cry 5, it is still a player’s avatar, and many players may like being able to go back and change something that they later regretted. The second feature has added support for Masks and Special Outfits to the menu.

Accessibility, Audio, & Performance

The only key change to the game’s accessibility by Far Cry 5’s 1.05 update is that subtitles will now be on by default when you start a New Game. When it comes to stability and performance, the update made numerous small tweaks to fix low-occurrence bugs. You should no longer find yourself stuck respawning in an instant-death loop when in a helicopter, for instance. Far Cry 5’s audio audio also received several fixes.

Missions & AI

The changes made to Far Cry 5’s missions by 1.05 also centered around fixing minor bugs. “The Quality of Mercy,” “Broken Path,” “Casualties of War,” “Where it All Began,” “Atonement,” and “The Cleansing,” all received attention for fixes. The update made general fixes to companion, enemy, and animal AI.

Gameplay & UI

The 1.05 update fixed twelve separate areas of gameplay & UI bugs, included animal animations, takedowns, localized languages, and more. The update also introduced new improvements to weapon balance and other in-game statistics.

Coop & Arcade/PVP

Far Cry 5 received the most fixes in this section. The update fixed a whole host of issues for co-op play, including mission-specific bugs and general animation issues. It implemented minor graphical improvements to the Arcade game mode’s spectator camera, improved matchmaking flow in private and public lobbies, and fixed a host of other problems for Arcade and PVP play.
