Pastor Jerome is one of the eight Far Cry New Dawn Guns-for-Hire, and should be familiar to those who played Far Cry 5. Although he wasn’t a Gun-for-Hire in that game, he was one of the main characters in the story. Seventeen years later and he’s still fighting to protect Hope County. However, now he’s fighting against the Highwaymen instead of the cult. Jerome is likely to be one of the first Guns-for-Hire you recruit, as he can be found not too far from Prosperity.
Far Cry New Dawn Guns-for-Hire: How to Find Pastor Jerome
You can either find Jerome by going to the starting point for his recruitment mission directly, or by learning of his location from someone. The latter is definitely the easier option; simply speak with any Wiki-Bean-ia scouts you come across, and it’s likely that one will mention Jerome and his whereabouts before too long. You can find these scouts wandering Hope County or alternatively, there will always be one at Prosperity, and in any captured Outpost.
Once you learn of Jerome’s whereabouts, you’ll need to look for an old silo tower by a small pond. As you approach, you’ll hear gunfire, as Jerome’s friend Ramone is under attack from Highwaymen. Clear out the enemies and then speak to Ramone, who’ll explain that he and Jerome ambushed a Highwaymen truck. However, Jerome was captured in the aftermath. Ramone doesn’t know where Jerome has been taken, but directs you to look for clues at the crash site; a spot on the road not too far from the pond.
At the crash site, you’ll find a Highwaymen prison truck which has careened off the road. Look for a trail of blood by the driver-side door and follow it to the body of a Highwayman. A note beside the corpse indicates where Jerome has been taken; a nearby Highwaymen camp. Once you reach that camp, you can either tackle it via stealth or attack directly. However, a direct approach can prove troublesome, especially if you don’t have a vehicle with you.
Jerome is currently in the back of another prison truck. If the alarm is raised, that truck will quickly depart from the camp. Unfortunately, because Jerome is your objective, not the camp, you’ll need to quickly find your own vehicle and give chase; otherwise Jerome will get too far away and you’ll fail the mission. Either clear out the camp without triggering an alarm, or pursue the truck and kill the driver so that you can free Jerome. Once freed, Jerome will join the Far Cry New Dawn Guns-for-Hire roster.
