Far Cry New Dawn Specialists: How to Recruit Sharky Boshaw

Gamers who remember Far Cry 5 might well recall Sharky Boshaw, the pyromaniac Gun-for-Hire. Sharky is Hurk’s cousin, and had a particularly memorable recruitment mission wherein players helped him defend a trailer park from cultists while he blasted the song “Burn, Baby, Burn,” from speakers all over the park. Seventeen years later, Sharky is older and even helping Hurk to co-parent his son Blade. That doesn’t mean that his recruitment mission is any less explosive, however…

How to Save Sharky Boshaw and Blade From the Highwaymen

Sharky Boshaw is one of five Specialists whom you can recruit in Far Cry New Dawn; five individuals whom you need to upgrade Prosperity. This group includes Bean, Selene, and returning character Nick Rye. Sharky can be found to the northeast of Hope County, not far from where you rescue Nick Rye, in fact. He is living at a former Highwaymen base which he calls “Chateau Boshaw”; a camp which he and Hurk captured and have been staying at, along with Hurk’s baby son Blade.

Although Hurk and Sharky have been able to hold off several attempts by the Highwaymen to reclaim the site, Hurk isn’t there, and Sharky requests your assistance. First of all, you need to skirt the perimeter of the site and arm five traps on the bridges leading over the sulphurous pools. Once you do that, meet Sharky in the base and he’ll thank you by giving you some of his ‘party liquor.’ Unfortunately, he fails to mention that this liquor is actually just pure ethanol, and you promptly collapse. When you wake up, the Highwaymen are mere moments from launching their attack.

Your job during the assault is to defend two pipes, one on each side of the base. Each one has a health bar and the Highwaymen are out to destroy both. You can make use of a heavy machine gun overlooking each pipe, or stay mobile and fight with your own weapons. Sharky, meanwhile, will take Blade and man an explosive barrel launcher. The Highwaymen come in waves. Fortunately, their vehicles can’t cross the bridges, but you will be facing a lot of enemies nonetheless. You’re in for a long and hectic fight!

Eventually, a Highwaymen helicopter arrives and air-drops a final wave of enemies. Once they’re dead, pick off any remaining Highwaymen and the assault will end. Sharky will thank you and admit that the camp is no place for a baby. As such, he’ll pack up and move to Prosperity, where he takes over the Explosive Lab.
