With less than one month to go before the release of Far Cry New Dawn, Ubisoft has released a new story trailer for the game. The Far Cry New Dawn story trailer gives fans a much more detailed look at the game’s premise. It also offers glimpses at some key characters, new factions, and more in the upcoming title.
Story, Factions and Characters: The Latest Far Cry New Dawn Trailer
In the game’s latest trailer, Ubisoft gives fans a much clearer look at the setup for Far Cry New Dawn’s story. While previous trailers have focused more on the setting or gameplay, this video focuses on characters and factions. Fans get to see more of Mickey and Lou, the twin villains, together with their faction, the Highwaymen. However, the trailer also reveals another faction; New Eden, a faction presumably established by the remnants of the Project at Eden’s Gate. While the cult were the villains of Far Cry 5, it seems as though their role in Far Cry New Dawn could be a lot more hazy.
While he was briefly revealed at the end of the game’s first trailer, the new story trailer also shows fans much more of The Father, Joseph Seed. He seems to be the spiritual leader of New Eden, and a major character. While his appearance in the first trailer seemed to suggest that he was regretful of his past actions, this appearance was much more sinister. He is briefly seen handing the player an apple, strongly implying that he could be a corrupting influence on the player.
Far Cry New Dawn is due to release on the 15th of February, next month. Ubisoft recently revealed that the game will contain ‘light’ RPG elements, including ranks for enemies, vehicles, and weapons. Players will need to gather crafting resources like scrap from around the wasteland, and will have a new option to salvage materials from captured outposts instead of capturing them. Doing so will leave the site vacant and eventually prompt more powerful enemies to move in.
