The month of May is already one week deep and there’s still a player of the month to be determined. EA Sports is looking for gamers to help decide upon their FIFA 19 Bundesliga Player of the Month for April. There are six nominees up for the latest award, with the winner looking to follow in the footsteps of previous winners Max Kruse and Julian Brandt.
FIFA 19 Bundesliga Player of Month nominees
Leading the way for the six nominees for April’s best in Bundesliga is Robert Lewandowski. The Bayern Munchen striker logged 376 minutes and tallied two goals along with 75 challenges. He’s been amongst several FIFA Team of the Week lineups including TOTW 25 and 30.
Joining him amongst the top nominees is his Bayern Munchen teammate Joshua Kimmich. The German defender had 75 challenges and won 67 percent of his challenges. In 376 minutes he didn’t score any goals but had a defensive clearance as well.
To help gamers decide on which Bundesliga player is most deserving of the award for April, EA Sports FIFA Twitter posted the video (below) to show off their highlights.
As seen in EA’s highlight video above, the other nominees include a third Bayern Munchen star in midfielder Serge Gnabry. Rounding out the six nominees are TSG 1899 Hoffenheim’s Ishak Belfodil, Bayer 04 Leverkusen’s Kahi Havertz, and Augsburg’s Marco Richter.
Belfodil could be on pace to capture this POTM award. He put together an impressive April featuring five goals and an assist in 372 minutes of time on the pitch. He also had 84 challenges. His best card in FUT so far is an 81 OVR, so it will be interesting to see if he wins what his new POTM card brings.
Gamers can vote for their choice to win April’s FIFA Bundesliga Player of the Month by heading to the EA FIFA website.
MLS Player of the Month for April announced
While gamers will be getting their votes in for the new Bundesliga POTM, FIFA recently unveiled their Major League Soccer POTM for April. It’s none other than Carlos Vela of the LA Galaxy club taking the MLS POTM award. EA tweeted out the reveal of Vela holding his POTM card which looks quite remarkable.
After five goals and two assists last month, Carlos Vela is quite deserving of his second-straight POTM award. His 90 OVR card includes 91 Pace, Shooting, and Dribbling along with a 90 Passing amongst key skills ratings. Vela’s previous POTM card brought an 88 OVR with none of the skill ratings topping 89. Prior to that, he was on Team of the Week 29 with an 86 OVR card.
To earn the card in FIFA 19, gamers have a few challenges to work through. They can exchange a squad featuring MLS Players and one featuring players from the Los Angeles club. Each of these brings a special pack reward for doing so. Adding the 90 OVR Vela POTM card to a FUT lineup is great especially as some gamers mentioned he can make a good super sub to bring in.
