Starting on Thursday, many fans will be able to start playing EA Sports’ newest soccer (football) title. The FIFA 19 early access through EA Access will officially kick off, but it requires certain steps in order to secure the game. It also means only select systems can enjoy the game over a week early. Sorry PlayStation loyalists, only PC and Xbox gamers are able to play early. Here are the ways to start using the new FIFA 19 game earlier than the official release date next week.
How to get FIFA 19 Early Access for PC
PC gamers are able to play FIFA 19 on Thursday, but they need to have an Origin Access membership. The standard membership is just $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year, giving a 50 percent savings. However, that membership only allows for a 10 hour trial for the FIFA 19 game. It also allows gamers 10 percent off all Origin purchases and access to a variety of games. Right now, the website indicates there are 140 games to choose from their collection.
An Origin Premier membership gives customers the full FIFA 19 game, though. That costs $14.99 a month or $99.99 per year. The Premier membership also gives extra content with EA games, about 148 games to use from their collection, and 10 percent off all Origin purchases.
How to get FIFA 19 Early Access for Xbox
Gamers who use the Microsoft Xbox system can also get early access to play the game (for a bit). To do so, they’ll need an EA Access membership. It costs just $4.99 per month, or gamers who want to save some money can go with an annual membership. Those cost $29.99 per year, a savings of 50 percent off the monthly subscription cost.
The membership comes with “unlimited play” for a number of different games, 10 percent off EA digital purchases for the Xbox One, and “exclusive early trials.” That includes hit games like FIFA 19. Unfortunately, Xbox’s early access only allows for a 10-hour trial. Still, that’s a bragging point as PS4 gamers can only use a demo from the PlayStation Store.
Other FIFA 19 Early Access & Release Dates
The game’s official release date is next Friday, September 28. The standard FIFA 19 game will be available for $59.99 through most retailers or through the various platforms’ online stores. However, there are a few other editions that fans can pre-order to use three days earlier.
The Champions Edition is one of those. It includes as many as 20 Jumbo Premium Gold FUT packs, special edition FUT Kits, a Champions League Player Pick. There’s also the Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr loans included. The Champions Edition costs $79.99 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox, and PC. EA’s
The Champions Rise trailer below shows off the excitement surrounding the new Champions League addition.
The Ultimate Edition is also available to play three days earlier. It includes everything mentioned for Champions Edition but also has up to 40 Jumbo Premium Gold FUT packs as a sweet bonus. The Ultimate Edition currently costs $99.99 for the various systems (PS4, Xbox One, PC).
Don’t forget about the Nintendo Switch version. The only way to play this one earlier than September 28th is by pre-ordering the Champions Edition here for the platform. It will bring the same features as the Champions Edition listed above including the Ronaldo and Neymar loans, special edition kits, and a UEFA Champions League Gold Player.
