Being able to play FIFA 18 on Switch was awesome … except for one thing. And it wasn’t a small thing. There was no way to set up a match with our friends. We could only participate in random games with strangers online. Why was it like this? Who knows? It was a terrible shortcoming.
Thankfully, all of that is going to change in FIFA 19 …
EA has confirmed that online play in FIFA 19 will not be limited in this manner. You will now be able to connect with your friends directly, and “track your rivalry through a five-match season, both in FIFA and FIFA Ultimate Team.”
Other exciting features in FIFA 19 for Switch are Ultimate Team, Career mode, and a standalone UEFA Champions League mode. Player models are more realistic, and animations have received an upgrade as well.
FIFA 19’s release date is September 28th, 2018. Along with Nintendo Switch, the game will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
