FIFA 19 Team of the Knockout Stage SBC for Luka Jovic Gets Mixed Reaction

Just a day ahead of the new FIFA Team of the Week, a brand new Team of the Knockout Stage card is unveiled. It’s part of the UEFA Europa League content for the new promotion. Fans are now checking into a Luka Jovic card for the new FIFA 19 Team of the Knockout Stage Squad Building Challenge. Is the SBC really worth it compare to his previous cards in the FIFA Ultimate Team mode, though?

New FIFA 19 Team of the Knockout Stage Luka Jovic card

On April 23, EA’s FIFA Twitter revealed the newest Squad Building Challenge (SBC) card. It’s a new Team of the Knockout Stage offering for rising star Luka Jovic. The 21-year-old footballer has achieved 25 goals in 42 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt this season. He’s just getting started too and FIFA realizes that he’ll likely be a major star in future editions of their game.

Jovic is currently amongst the stars in the UEFA Europa League knockout stage. He and the Eintracht club will take on Chelsea for their semi-finals matchup. The Team Serbia striker gets an 88 overall rating on his newest card which will involve building a specific squad to earn. The card also boasts some great skill ratings including 92 Shooting, 87 Pace, 87 Dribbling, and an 85 Physicality.

This isn’t Jovic’s first special card in the FIFA Ultimate Team feature, and that has some gamers contemplating if this one’s worth the trouble or cost. Jovic’s previous best card was his FIFA 19 Future Stars card, also rated at 88 overall. That card included 88 Pace, 87 Dribbling, and 80 Passing, but just an 89 for Shooting. So there’s a five-point dropoff on that key skill rating, while two others have a slight advantage.

A number of gamers have commented on EA FIFA’s tweet that they won’t pay the absurd prices there will be on the market for a new Jovic card. Instead, they’ll stick with his Future Stars card as part of their lineup.

How do you feel about this brand new Team of the Knockout Stage SBC? Should FIFA have made it a better card than the Future Stars?
