As the holiday season is underway for 2019, that also means the return of the FUTMAS promotion for FIFA. On Friday, December 13, gamers got a look at what this year’s edition will involve with the inclusion of some of the best footballers in the game now in packs. In addition, FIFA 20 FUTMAS unveiled three Squad Building Challenge players to get things started.
FIFA 20 FUTMAS adds TOTY nominees to packs
Just yesterday, we showed off the Team of the Year nominees featuring 55 of the best footballers around. They include top attackers, defenders, midfielders, and goalies. As part of the FIFA 20 FUTMAS promotion, EA announced that gamers will be able to find the TOTY nominees randomly inside packs, but for a limited time.
Here’s a look at the FUTMAS promotional video that arrived on December 13 which also reveals the new kits coming with the promotion.
That means purchasing Gold Packs or Promo Packs for a chance at the TOTY Nominees. Here’s a look at the chances:
- Gold Pack (5,000 MT/100 EA Points) <1% chance
- Premium Gold Pack (7,500 MT/150 EA Points) <1% chance
- Rare Electrum Players Pack (30,000 MT/600 EA Points) 3.1% chance
- Mega Pack (35,000 MT/700 EA Points) 3.2% chance
- Rare Players Pack (50,000 MT/1,000 EA Points) 6.1% chance
So as you can see, it’s a slim chance at those TOTY player cards, but there’s a chance nonetheless. They’re also only available for just under a week in packs now. Luckily, that’s not all that the FIFA 20 FUTMAS promotion has for fans to check out as there are also new kits and SBCs.
New Player SBCs available in FUT
There are a number of new Squad Building Challenges that will be a part of FIFA 20 FUTMAs. Several of those were revealed on Friday as part of the promotion. One of these involves building a squad consisting of at least three Nationalities, at least five Gold Players, at least three Rare players, a minimum rating of 74, and a Team Chemistry of 70. The reward is a Jumbo Premium Gold Pack.
There was also a new Player SBC added for Axel Witsel with an 86 overall card as the reward. To get the item requires a squad with at least one Bundesliga player, and at least one TOTW player or FUT Champions Player. Also, the team must have at least an 84 overall rating, and at least a 70 for Team Chemistry rating. Many gamers believe this one is well worth what it takes to build the squad and turn it in for the upgraded card.
There’s also a new Player SBC in FIFA 20 FUTMAS for Moses Simon with an 84 overall card. Simon’s item features 95 Pace, 87 Dribbling, 81 Shooting, 75 Passing, and 75 Physical ratings. To get the card requires a squad with at least one Ligue 1 Conforama player and at least one TOTW or Ones to Watch Player. It also must have a minimum team rating of 84 and a minimum Team Chemistry of 70.
Some are giving the Simon card an “L” due to his team finishing 12th, but others are praising the item as reasonable to get due to not being too expensive.
In addition to their full cards detailed above, Witsel and Simon are available through Loan SBCs as well with lighter requirements. These are time-limited SBCs right now with less than a day remaining.
Note: EA announced that FUTMAS content goes live for Nintendo Switch as of Saturday, December 14 at 10 a.m. PST.
Now gamers will wait to see what else is in store for FIFA 20 FUTMAS promotion heading into the 2019 holidays. See more details about the promotion at EA’s website.
